How to turn your liability into an asset...

I had one of those forehead-slapping moments about an hour ago. I need to raise money for, among other things (like marketing dollars), food, so I was trying to come up with ideas. Then it hit me--I have a truck. Trucks are useful for hauling things. People will pay to have things hauled.

I CAN MAKE MONEY USING MY TRUCK!

Within 15 minutes of posting an ad on Craigslist (where I see many other budding entrepreneurs had the same idea), I got my first gig. It's going to mean I have to get up before the crack of dawn, but hey, it's a few bucks. I'll even make a little bit of profit after gas is factored in.

Now, a thousand more of those and I can buy a bigger truck...

UPDATE: The guy just called back to inform me that his warehouse guy will take care of it tonight, but he'll "keep me in mind for the next job."

Sigh. These ups and downs are enough to make a guy consider voting Democrat. Gimme! Gimme! Gimme!
