The Universe likes me. It really, really likes me.

What a nice change of pace. At about noon today my wife called me from the doctor's office. "Guess what," she said. "The doc said the baby dropped and I'm a little bit dilated."

(Sorry if that's too graphic, but I'm up to my eyeballs in gynecological trivia these days and don't know what's appropriate.)

The little guy is due to make his Earthly debut at the end of February, but the doctor said it could be as soon as a couple of weeks. It's late and I'm wiped out, but I'll be writing more about this truly transcendent experience during this time. I had planned to do a 30-day countdown until the birth, but it looks like I'm not going to have that kind of time. And yes, I'm in a little bit of shock.

In other news, I got a small raise at my J.O.B. It's not much to speak of, and it certainly won't change our circumstances, but it's nice. However, I DID get a bonus about three times larger than I expected. I'm talking THOUSANDS of dollars. Multiple. That's PLURAL thousands. I mean, an executive at Ford could wipe his butt with the amount, but for us, now, this is very, very good. It means we can put off the short sale process for a few more months.

Thanks be to God.

Hang in there Christopher! Congrat's on the new addition to the fam! My youngest just turned 2 and the time went by so fast...

Just make sure that when you take pictures of the little one in the delivery room that you get some shots of the waist-up. Those will be your favorites as the years go by. Just a little 411 from a guy with 3 testosterone filled boys running around...

THREE boys at once? I imagine that for that kind of situation, you need lots of woods and land. My dad didn't have much trouble raising me and my brother because there was always something to build or explore out around the house.

Thanks for the congrats. I'll have lots of G-rated video up just as soon as he's born and I have the time and energy to post it. So, check back in 2017.

Glad things are going well for you, Christopher..

Congrats on the raise and bonus, and also on the soon to be newest member of the family.
