Just finished the big proposal edit project. Total hours invested: 14. All in all, it was a fantastic new exercise. I've never edited a technical proposal before, and I've certainly never written an abstract for one. Speaking of which, I was certain that the engineers would utterly reject, laugh at, and make me do over, the abstract. I was up until 2:00 AM last night, amped up on a horrific mixture of coffee, wine and gin, combing through more than 60 pages of some of the most technical jargon ever drafted for bits of language to translate, and then burning it to the page with my laser-like concentration. However, rather than eviscerate my prose, one engineer described it as "great" and the other one described it as "outstanding."
:-)
See, this is why God keeps me humble with lots of trials. I have a couple of minor victories and trumpet them throughout the land.
Now, I veg. I believe there are two Simpsons on tonight...
