The Northern Virginia Real Estate Review

One of the reasons I haven't been blogging much lately is the annoying accumulation of side projects. Yes, I know, you Thoreau-ites out there, we should keep our affairs as "two or three." (My apologies if I blew that quote and/or author--it's been years since I read any Thoreau.) But hey, it's better than sitting here waiting for something to happen.

Anyway, this is the online version of a newsletter for a Northern Virginia REI networking group. We've already produced a couple of hard copy editions, but this will be the Web version with more content, ads, etc. The idea is, as with any publication, to make money through advertising. Millions of journalists will certainly chafe at the idea, but they exist mainly to write bait or filler so as to sell advertising. Sounds like a plan to me.

As you'll no doubt notice, the content on the Web site is notably thin. Very true. But in the next few weeks you'll see what will hopefully become a useful resource for real estate investing in the Northern Virginia and DC metro area. We're currently looking for regular contributors and, of course, advertisers. Why would you care right now, considering how blank the page is? Well, we--my wife and I, in partnership with the fearless leader of the group--have a mailing list of 3,000 people. That's 3,000 opportunities to sell your product, get published, or find a resource.

Perhaps this note is ridiculously premature, but hey, I don't have a hell of a lot to blog about today. ;-)

ummm, it's Thoreau, no "x" ... or is the "x" there for some grammar trick to segue to the "ites"? Otherwise, the quote itself is appropriate.

Thoreau is an interesting real estate mogul. His home was only "10 x 15". Waterfront though. Now, Don Henley wants to raise millions for it to keep it away from the bloody developers.

P.S. I'll keep an eye out for the NOVA Review.
