Ouch...

I'd better get used to this. I just got a "deal alert" from one of the local clubs. It's a list of properties up for grabs--all controlled by investors, of course. One of them was for a property within walking distance of my home. Someone bought the place in 2006 for over $600,000. He's selling it for $390,000. I've met this guy--he's incredibly nice, very helpful, and even directed me to a good contractor who helped us with an estimate. I don't begrudge him at all--this is business, after all--but still...ouch.

So rather than drown my sorrows in a bottle of Beam, I offered to take him out to lunch and figure out how he did it. He's probably too busy, but who knows? I just hope he understands that the p.s. at the end of my e-mail, "I hope that house explodes in a spectacular natural gas fireball," is just a joke. Hah hah. I'm such a character.
