Back from my break...

Yo. I took a small break from blogging. I had to tear myself from the keyboard. There was great wailing and gnashing (I pronounce that "guh-nashing") of teeth, but it was for the best. Besides, I didn't have anything to write about. Well, that's never true, actually. I'm just ridiculously undisciplined.

So, what's going on here...

If I were Evangelical, I suppose I'd say that "God has put it on my heart" to begin implementing a new REI plan NOW, rather than in the next couple of months when things will theoretically be stable. The idea is to save our bacon from foreclosure, right? Well, this moving business brings in just enough money to keep our bacon frozen and edible (this metaphor is rapidly getting out of control...), but I do NOT want to be relying on this over the next six months or so. We need big money, and we need it right now. I consider "big money" to be anything over, say, $2,000 right now. Someday soon I will laugh at that statement and slap myself in the face for setting the bar so low, but for now, a few wholesale deals netting that much would be more awesome than naked Crisco water-sliding down a steep grade.

Anyway, I'll figure it out. We need to keep nurturing the contacts we've made and make a lot more.

I also have a dinner meeting tonight with the mortgage guy who tried to help us with our house. I suspect a pitch, at which point the meeting will be over. Why do I suspect a pitch? Because the last time we talked he said, "Chris, would you be open to making $2,000 more per month?"

Duh.

"No, Rick," I said, "I hate that idea. I hate it so much I'm going to quit my regular job."

He thought it was funny. I guess that's good.

He has some kind of "idea" and he needs a copywriter/editor to implement it. I'm that guy. If it brings in some extra scratch, great, I'm all ears. But like I said, if he's going to try to pitch Pre-Paid Legal or some such crap, I'm going to "pitch" Indian food into his lap.
