Well, I'll be damned...

I was driving to work here in New Tijuana...er...Northern Virginia, when I got a call.

"I saw your truck...I mean your sign...for houses...you buy trucks? I mean, houses?"

"Yes, I buy houses," I said. (In the past I've needlessly clarified that I'm trying to buy houses, thereby confusing the potential seller and myself. I've learned my lesson...)

Since I was driving, I told him I'd call him back tonight. He was driving, too, and his phone kept breaking up. It's tough to translate Spanish while driving, while he's driving, and while reception sucks.

What I know: It's a 3BR, 1 and 1/2BA townhome in Springfield, which isn't great. It's supposedly very nice--top of the line everything. That's great. He owes $350,000, which isn't great. His mortgage payments aren't horrible, relatively speaking, so maybe there's an L/O or Sub-2 opportunity here. I don't know.

The point is that I'm thrilled my truck mag sign finally worked. I was literally thinking at the moment he called that I should just take it down. I'm sick of driving around advertising my failure as a beginning investor. (Moment of negative energy there. It'll pass.) So, the sign stays on for now.
