I keep trying to write an update on the meeting with the potential buyer last night, but events keep overtaking me. Grace put an ad on Craigslist and at a local megachurch's message board, and she's gotten something like 10 calls on it. One person, upon hearing about what I think is an absurd lease/rent figure, said "Sounds like a good deal." Have I somehow amassed more market knowledge than everyone else around here? Seems doubtful. In fact, that's impossible. Nonetheless, we're getting nibbles which is very, very good.
Last night's visitor is promising, but I'm really not sure about her. She's in a bit of a bind--or several binds, actually. She makes $120,000 per year, but she's in some kind of adoption battle for a cute little girl she brought with her. She's got student loans and various other expenses, too. She liked our place, but made several comments about how "small" it is. I agree--it ain't big. 900 sq. ft. isn't exactly Versailles (there I go with another attempted French spelling without Googling it! I'm insane!) I can definitely see her being dissatisfied six months from now and fighting to get out of the lease.
Anyway, I'm truly shocked that people are A) calling and B) calling this an "interesting" or "good" deal. Life's weird.
