Where's the REI?

One might wonder why this site has been pretty slim on the REI stuff lately. I will kindly remind you that it's always been thin on the REI stuff. Heh.

The reason is that we're shuffling our priorities somewhat. We're still going to make offers, but our first priority in the near future is unloading this overpriced condo. We're going to try to lease option the thing and move into an apartment (or if possible, a new house) that'll bring our payments down to a managable $1500-$1800 per month. (I never thought I'd write such a thing--before we bought this place, my rent was $425 per month. I thought that was extreme...)

Once we've got that handled, we're going to start making offers on REOs again, and we're going to farm the hell out of the neighborhood right in our backyard. I'm talking bandit signs, postcards, creepy slow drive-bys with magnetic signs on our vehicles saying "We Buy Houses." I'm also thinking about making an offer on my P.O.S. bachelor pad of the $425 rent. (Total overhaul inside. Easily.)

So, this place isn't all about me musing about my father, my education, my child, etc. Someday, hopefully soon, I'll also be bitching about the impossibility of finding good contractors.
