Another pretty mailing...

It's Friday, so you know what that means! Well, maybe you don't. This blog isn't that old, after all. Well, this Friday, it's "direct mail day." This will be my second mailing, and this time I'm more prepared for the relative glut of phone calls I'll receive. See, I hadn't thought that far ahead the last time. I didn't expect people to, you know, actually call me. And I wasn't prepared to do things like explain short sales and subject-to deals to stressed-out homeowners, while at work, in Spanish.

Do I know anything about short sales, sub-tos, or Spanish? Well, let me put it to you this way--I had to settle for iced tea at Don Pablo's the other night because I couldn't communicate my desire for an "enchilada." My knowledge of short sales et al is only slightly better.

But, I got myself a very nice, committed translator who's at the same place on the investment scale as I am: broke, in debt, and clawing toward that first deal. I have no idea what she's talking about with my Spanish-speaking potential sellers, but I'm now convinced that it takes a very, very long time to say anything in Spanish. It must be a descendant of Entish.

Anyway, wish us luck.
